TUI BLUE Tropea

Calm, beautiful views, super nice suites, great stuff and delicious cuisine. Highlight: parasols and sunbeds on the beach for the hotel guests were included in the price. Great for Italy as usually they are rather expensive. I'd love to go back. Hotel for adults, mostly couples. Very quiet, very pleasant for relaxing holiday. Nice sports and entertainments.

The room they gave us turned out to be adapted for disabled persons. Among other things, there was no shower screen. As a result, the whole bathroom floor got flooded within a minute. When we complained about it, the reception manager came up with the ludicrous suggestion to give us more towels. After we made clear that we had no intention of spending our holidays mopping the floor, they offered another (bigger) room for 35 euro extra per night. Eventually, they lowered the extra charge to10 euro per night. It still seemed unfair to us (after all, we hadn't asked for a bigger room), but we accepted because the reception manager bluntly said that there was no way they would change the room for free. At that same moment, a couple entered and complained that they had waited for more than 2 hours for the shuttle bus to pick them up from Tropea. Apparently, it got too much for the reception manager and she started shouting at the other girls at the reception. We had never seen such unprofessional behaviour, it looked like a scene from Fawlty Towers. It was totally embarassing and made us feel unwelcome from the start.
